The quest to reach our full potential
I have worked with people from different backgrounds, cultures and life experiences. Having built my career in professions requiring listening and relationship building skills, has taught me about the struggles and challenges that we all face at various stages of life.
My work overseas exposed me to different cultures and to the difficulties of adjusting from one country to another. Language barriers, cultural differences and societal expectations are just some of the obstacles I have had to overcome in order to deliver value to individuals, groups and organisations I have engaged with, at both a professional and personal level. I speak fluent French which continues to add to the richness and variety of my life and my learnings along the way.
For over twenty years psychology and counselling has added an important and meaningful dimension to my professional life and one in which I have found my vocation today. I feel privileged to provide help, care and support to you, the individual.
Merging fitness with counselling and psychology
As a young person I generally coasted through life doing what I thought was expected of me. I had no clear direction and goal for myself.
I came to Australia determined to leave behind my knowledge and expertise in economics and try something totally different, but… I did not know exactly what.
I discovered my passion of helping others after working with children and adults with disabilities. During that time, I studied fitness and exercise science to become a personal trainer and enrolled in year-long specialised course to open my Pilates studio.
In my quest of aiding others, the concept of mind and body balance came to me as a new philosophy through Pilates. It’s true that the science of fitness, power, performance and endurance as well as nutrition provides much to enable people to live a higher quality life but what about the mind?
At university, everything finally clicked. I studied social sciences, majoring in psychology and went on to completed a degree in rehabilitation counselling at Sydney University.
